My book is called "Steps in Time". It is an autobiography of Fred Astaire. I really really like it so far. I love dancing so the fact that he is one of the best tap dancers known to Hollywood really helps. The beginning of the book is just some back round on his life. The language is really casual so it actually feels like he's talking to you. He describes some ups and downs on Hollywood and the life of fame. He also spends quite a bit of time on complaining about how so many people called him old, when he really wasn't that old.
In one passage he describes how he loves empty theaters, "...except when there's a show going on."
He also spends some time explaining how he choreographs. He doesn't like to listen to other peoples suggestioins. A dance is yours and you have to make it what you imagined it to be.
I feel like i really understand him.

Christina, this sounds like an interesting person to read about. I like that you described his language as casual, so its easy to understand. Being a dancer myself, I can also connect with his ideas about choreography- and that it's your own. Good insights!
He sounds awesome! Tap dancing is really cool. I like people who have a free spirit and do what they choose. This guy seems like one them.
First I love Fred Astaire, he is an amazing dancer. I agree with his quote about empty theaters, it's exactly how I feel. Saying the language is "casual" really makes it clear how the book is written.
It sounds like a interesting book. I'm glad you can relate to him because of your love of dancing. I feel that anyone can relate to him if they have a passion for something. My passions are Volleyball and my flute. When get on the court its just me and my team and when I put the flute to my mouth its just me and my music. Sometimes when the class bell rings for the end of band class. I look around surprised and then remember that I'm at school.
Sounds like an intriguing book. I think it depends on what kind of choreography, though. Dancing by yourself is amazing, but dancing with a group to some else's steps can be really fun to-- you have to find a way to make it induvidual while fitting in with everyone.
